Job Description
As an accountant, you’ll be responsible for account closing and financial report preparation, taxation, and internal control system follow-ups. Your role entails account coding & encoding, account receivable, payment authorization, tax filling, and audit coordination.
You’ll also gather, review, analyze, and present financial and non-financial information from various sources within and outside the company and make recommendations that will impact the company positively. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director of the Company.
Responsibilities:
1) Preparing balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
2) Coordinating internal control activities across the business to ensure the Company’s revenue sustenance
3) Management of company payroll system.
4) Maintain fixed assets records and register
5) Maintain individual control accounts for cash, expenses, debtors, creditors and general ledger.
6) Ensuring the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations
7) Preparing tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid properly and on time
8) Evaluating financial operations to recommend best practices, identify issues and strategize solutions, and help organizations run efficiently
9) Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization
10) Conducting forecasting and risk analysis assessments
11) Stores management generally, inventory control and management
12) Performing all other duties that will enhance profitability, productivity and going concern status of the company
Qualifications
1) Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field.
2) Possession of ACCA or ACA, is an added advantage.
3) Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in a financial reporting role in an Import firm.
4) Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
5) Strong presentation skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation tools
6) Advanced skills in other Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and MS Project.
